Our lovely B&B is surrounded by chestnut woodlands and farmland with quiet walks and views of the river Thames, yet is still within reach of public transport.  It is perfect for short stays.

From the M2 motorway (going North): Turn off at Junction 1, onto the A289 to Grain.  Then take the first exit towards Gravesend and Rochester.  This brings you to a roundabout on the A226; take the first exit left towards Gravesend.  Go straight on at the traffic lights, CHESTNUTS is approximately 300 yards further, on your left hand side.  (Look for the little wooden train made out of Chestnut wood).

From the A2 (southwards): Do NOT join the M2 motorway, or you will travel several miles before you can turn off.  Instead, follow the A2 exit to Gillingham & Grain and join the A289 to Grain.  Take the 1st exit towards Gravesend & Rochester.  At the roundabout, turn left on the A226 towards Gravesend.  Go straight on at the traffic lights and CHESTNUTS is approximately 300 yards further, on your left hand side.  (Look for the little wooden train made out of Chestnut wood).

On the No.190 bus from Rochester and Chatham: Ask for the Pear Tree Lane stop at Higham.  Watch out for: two roundabouts fairly close together, then the Sir John Falstaff public house on your right hand side and Gads Hill School on your left.  Your stop is immediately after the traffic lights, and CHESTNUTS is approximately 300 yards further on along the verge.

On the No.190 bus from Gravesend: Ask for the Holly Tree Drive stop at Higham.
Watch out for: The Copperfields Carvery on your left hand side.  When you get to the 40mph speed sign press the 'request stop' button, and the bus will stop in the layby at the top of the hill.  CHESTNUTS is immediately opposite.

Note: If you look under Location Maps on this website, Google show a picture of Anisa which is immediately opposite Chestnuts B&B.  Unfortunately we cannot alter this!
